ABOUT ABDALLA BIYADA

I’m Australian born fighter and I’ve lived in Wollongong all my life, I come from a big Lebanese family and I’m the baby of 6 children. I’ve always been one to stick up for the little guy especially at school when people where being bullied I just wouldn’t be the one to stand back and watch or join in. I was always the one to jump in and stand up for anyone.

Growing up I was bullied a lot myself and my twin and I was overweight. I was never the popular one, so I guess I started out training so that I was able to stand up for myself if I needed to and to lose weight.

When I first started training I never had the intention of making it my career, it wasn’t until I moved to freestyle and I had a lot of success as an amateur did I make this decision to chase this dream full time. Before I turned pro I was a full time Nurse.

After finding MMA in my late teens I feel inlove with the sport as well as health and fitness and it become an obsession. I was never much of a girly girly growing up and l loved the idea of being different and not conforming to the ideas of what a women “should do” and what we are “supposed “ to look like based of society’s ideals.

WHAT DRIVES ME IN TRAINING

My relationship with VEX MMA began from here and there causal friendly conversations, to working together, and building a great strong bond and relationship. We share similar goals and same aim to achieving the our goals.

I love being pushed to my absolute limits in training knowing that I can do things that not many people can, learning new techniques and knowing that every session gets me one step closer to making it and becoming the best fighter I can be.

I learnt about VEX when I was introduced to there products through my teammate Seb and then my relationship started with my sponsorship through PRP.

Where they provided us with the gear we need to compete at the highest level.It allows us to train with confidence knowing we’ve got the best support and Products we need to make it to the next level.I like that they come in a range of sizes that are a lot more comfortable then other brands as vex gear, like there shin pads actually fit your shin. The range of colours it also a plus.
